This is one of my favorite pumpkins and I display it until all of the Thanksgiving items are packed away for the year. I made it last Halloween because I wondered if putting buttons on a pumpkin would look adorable. I didn't plan for it to be gold and I was really just experimenting with buttons left over from this button vase project. I love this pumpkin because it's a little homely but whimsical not unlike the story of Cinderella. You can check out my tutorial here.

Remember when my kitchen table was covered in fake leaves the other day? Putting things away is never as fun or easy as taking them out. I was having a difficult time getting my entire fake forest of fake leaves back into the storage bags and just threw the rebels into a large, empty, Ikea vase I have. I'm using the fake leaf collection in other projects so the vase was only (supposed to be) a temporary residence. I decided I really liked how they looked, especially against my tea-stained Goodwill table runner and vinegar-stained kitchen table. It looks great, especially around sunset when my kitchen is on fire with the last and dying light of the day.
I've found beauty in faux leaves. Probably because I'm in a desert and I'll take what I can get :)

Do you have any faux leaves for crafting or decor?
